One of the most important phases of a
person’s educational development is that of learning proper behavior,
cooperation, respect, and self-discipline. MS maintains firm, caring
discipline that is positive in nature. This involves courtesy, respect,
obedience, and safety. Students are expected to follow class and
school rules willingly, to do assignments, and to maintain good
study habits to the best of their ability. Without these characteristics,
it is difficult for a person to maintain the proper attitude to
develop intellectually. It is the school’s responsibility as part
of the total educational process to assist the student in the development
of self-discipline. In the process, sometimes it becomes necessary
to impose penalties on students for inappropriate or abnormal behavior
that interferes with the educational process. Improper behavior
will initiate the following discipline procedures:
- Immediate time out.
- Recess time out.
- Loss of recess.
- Sent to the office (in school suspension).
- Call parents to pick up child (part-day
suspension).
- Suspension for one day to one week
(parent, teacher, and principal conference is required before
re-entering class).
